Artist Showcase: The Zangwills

Updated: Sep 13, 2018

This is our new feature where we will be showcasing those select bands who are on our radar at the moment, trying to put into words what they are about, their sound and why you should take notice.

The Zangwills are a force to be reckoned with at the moment. From the word go they've set about making well-written, expertly-played upbeat and catchy tunes to a level most seen in bands who have been on the scene way longer then they have. All this comes with a sense of uniqueness which sets them apart from the crowd in the form of frontman Jake Vickers' talented vocals and guitar skills, the experienced drum patterns from Adam Spence and not to forget Sam Davies's complimentary guitar work and Ed Dowlings undercurrent of bass licks. Along with their sound and performance their live sets are something to be seen as will. Full of energy and stage presence.

The band have just released one of the tracks off their upcoming EP "Its really up to you" - Patio Paradise. The song is, to say the least, an instant party classic. It has a clean-cut guitar riff throughout which will be stuck in your head for days which, for me at least is a hail-back to a early-90s indie-pop sound which goes well with the message in the song about reminiscing about good times spent in yesteryear. Jake pushes his vocals singing with an abundance of energy and enthusiasm, which is rare to find in other bands. Check the song out below and let us know what you think in the comments below.

The band release their EP "its really up to you" on 21st September. Visit their links below for all the info on the band, music releases and where to hear them live.

Stay tuned for more showcased bands in the future.
