REVIEW: Paris by Reclaim Vienna

Reclaim Vienna are a six-piece indie pop/rock band from in and around Cheshire. The band rose from the ashes of another band as many bands do and have given every ounce of effort since in making their own name, sound and style and it's safe to say they've succeeded.

Its safe to say Reclaim Vienna, from the times we at Softlad have seen them live, bring the beat, vibe and sound of the clubs to any venue they perform at with their own spin including guitars, great vocals and more.

Their latest release, Paris, doesn't fail to bring all of the above. Heavy synth effects welcome us to the track with a beat scientifically proven to make even the dullest person tap their feet to. The vocals throughout sing lyrics which are well-written, catchy and with impact. With just the right amount of breaks and guitar riffage the song seems balanced through and through. It's obvious they are honing in on a sound trademarked by the 70s/80's bands such as New Order, Depeche Mode and Talk Talk, to name a few, which is becoming ever present of late and brings that sound into the present with a deftness only musicians who have been hard at practising and performing for while can do.

Overall, Paris, shows off the bands ability to not only give a quality song full of catchy lyrics and expertly played instruments but ensures that the beat of the song whenever played or performed will no doubt get you up and dancing or give you a trance like feeling with it's unrelenting temp and vocals full of reverb. Its certain this song will be a fan favourite at any live event and its got me at least wanting more. We won't have long to wait though, their next release Kick the Butterfly is due out soon on 1st March.
