REVIEW: See it my Way - ZULU

ree

ZULU are a five piece rock band from Wirral, Merseyside. They've recently released their debut single release See it My Way. Lets see if their choice of track is the right one to make a good first impression.

See it My Way starts off the bat with a dirty guitar lead and a clean one over it. So far so good. The lyrics as they come in are catchy and well-sung. None of this putting on a foreign US accent. There's a good northern accent there and coupled with the catchy quickly spoken lyrics, comparisons to Arctic Monkeys are bound to be made.

The song reminds me of The Happy Monday's song Kinky Afro slightly, with it's repeated dirty guitar riff, northern sounding vocals and up tempo beat, but ZULU have a certain unique quality, perhaps where they've added personality and their own signature on things. There's nice little added effects, like echo in vocals and harmonies which gives the song its own feel. There beat throughout certifies that this song is a favourite at any gig allowing the crowd to bop their heads and, given enough drink, totally dance around to.
