REVIEW - Pete Riley - Something Inside

Updated: Jul 28, 2020

Pete Riley is a well-known musician on the scene in Liverpool. Having made an impact mostly from his past band Treehouse he has had a run of great releases after going solo and shows no sign of stopping.

A bit of a background for Pete: Throughout the early 90's Treehouse made a name for themselves and ventured over to the USA where they hoped to make an impact and after grinding the bars and clubs of Los Angeles were noticed by Atlantic Records (the stuff dreams are made of - we are not making this up!). Pete then toured the USA with Treehouse throughout 1997 - 2001 when they unfortunately split, but along the way opened up for many bands and artists and released an album to critical acclaim. He's since embarked on an amazing solo career supporting Edwin McCain and has since collaborated and had a writing partnership with for the release of further albums and EPs. Something Inside is the latest single from Pete Riley from his "The Lost Album". As you'd expect from someone with a wealth of music experience under their hats, this track is very polished and great to listen to. Pete's voice belies his age, with his fresh sounding and full of range and power vocal performance.

Pete's soft rock offering includes professional sounding drums and guitars whether it be in the form of their clean sound or the slide guitar sound which gives the song its unique sound. It's the whole package, full of character and attitude.

Overall, Pete has captured the fun, energetic and powerful feeling of love and winning over that someone special. It's really easy to listen to and as it finishes you realise you are wanting more. There is an album full of equally good songs you tell yourself and the journey continues.....
