Hours is the latest release from Aligners, a North West indie rock/pop band. The track comes after their well-received debut single Sixties Hearse.
Their latest track goes further to showcase their strengths when it comes to producing unique great-sounding indie rock songs. The artwork for each single being just as noticeable with a thought-provoking design by designer Crying Elephant drawing you into the single.
The intro for Hours has you hooked from the start with a effect driven guitar and nice up-tempo beat before then bringing you into a ballad-esqe verse from front-man Nathan Greenfield. With drawn out words putting emphasis on the lyrics accompanied by a great backing guitar and beat, Nathan brings home the meaning behind the lyrics, the longing to spend time with that special someone, not doing anything in particular but just being with each other enjoying each others company.
The track then brings about a catchy, sing-a-long chorus and bridge, which will no doubt have anyone listening singing along internally or out loud. The repetition in the chorus of Hours, shows Nathan vocalising how precious time when with someone you want to waste time with.
The track is a well-rounded indie track with a great tempo and well-written lyrics performed exceptionally. The track serves to show a different side to the band, giving a more softer side then that showcased in their previous release, which was much more heavier. The bands should be proud with producing two tracks already which show they have the talent and promise to become even better and will now doubt become a stronger band in the long-run with more experience and time.
